WEAPON(S):A small one shot derringer and a dagger, both hidden in the voluminous dress she normally wears.

MOUNT(S):She can ride but given her current life style she has to use whatever mounts available during her travels.
OTHER:She also has a small vial of deadly flavorless poison.
Strengths & Weaknesses
+ Highly intelligent and well educated, quick learner and flexible to new things.
+ Very determined to achieve her goals. Stubborn, some would call her fanatical even. To give up is dishonorable was pounded into her by her father.
+ Patriotic however unlike many high born, she is concerned with the welfare of the people and is popular with the peasantry of her family's holdings.
+ Willing to plot and not averse to using violence to achieve her aims but never needlessly cruel or vicious.
- No combat skills whatsoever, she is a lady.
- Due to her youth, she lacks experience in the world outside of her home fief, not well traveled.
- Not always realistic, her goals are so ambitious and her assets so limited not to mention she is female in a political world that is dominated mostly by men.
- Though healthy enough, she is not an impressive physical specimen and would fare poorly in any feats involving strength.
People who meet this vibrant young woman may be first likely to underestimate her for both her youth and gender but spend some time with her and a different view forms. She has a way about her, confident and smart with flashes of charisma much like her father. The Szeptycki clan had usually been able to inspire loyalty among it's followers. She has that gift too.
Though not a warrior, she has regularly shown courage, it is hard to rattle her even in times of stress. Given her situation now in life, it is seldom she gets to show another side of her, a laughing affable ease with those whom she enjoys the company of. The household servants of that family will tell any who ask that she has always treated them with patience and even kindness. Though mostly even tempered, she can be quick to become defensive when it comes to any criticism of the Szeptycki clan and history.
One of twin babies, Halina survived those first couple of years when so many infants do not, her brother died of a sudden fever. Her father hoped for another male offspring to be his heir but Halina's mother never again managed to bring a pregnancy into live child birth, crushing disappointments.
Resigned to a female to represent the family hopes, her father began to groom her for the harsh responsibilities that went with their tradition. For once the Szeptyckis had ruled the entire kingdom of Wyzkow with an iron grip. Almost a century ago though, they had a run of two inept and corrupt rulers in a row and the nation was ripped apart with rebellion. A new family emerged victorious, and even now (at least until the Holy Gothic Empire invaded)most still regard the only survivor of King Karl's immediate family, his son, to be the legitimate heir.
Kazimir Szeptycki, Halina's father, saw his chance with the upheaval of the foreign invasion and openly declared himself and his followers to be in rebellion against King Karl. But he would not go so far as to align with the hated Empire and fought them too. It was desperately ambitious but it also only served to further weaken an already outnumbered and outclassed Wyzkow defense. King Karl died, his queen and his family except for one son massacred, and Wyzkow was declared a part of the great Gothic Empire.
Kazimir tried to keep up the struggle but his turn came next, the Gothic forces and even some Wyzkow sympathizers, now turning their support for what appeared to be the winning side, closed in on his fiefdom capital city of Varnie. The siege was a long one with the combative Szeptyckis going down hard in the end. Kazimir died fighting at the front gates during the final assault, his wife had perished during the siege, and that left only young Halina. Kazimir's final proclamation announced to his loyalists that Halina was now heir to the Wyzkow throne.
Halina had dutifully done everything expected of her prior to the final disaster. Since she had been but a child it had been drilled into her the Szeptyckis were the rightful rulers of the kingdom and it was their sacred duty to restore the family glory. Often she wished she could have taken up armor and weapons and fought like a man but, for all her abilities, combat skills were not among them.
As the city fell and against her personal will, Halina was smuggled out of the place by devoted bodyguards and servants. Even then it had taken a firm direct order by her father to compel her to accompany her escort. However she was now little more than a fugitive on the run with no safe sanctuary available. She still had the sympathy of a sizeable part of the population though. Unfortunately the Gothic Empire knew too she was someone who needed to be hunted down and executed. Leave it to those troublesome Wyzacks that they didn't just have one so called heir but TWO which would no doubt have to be eliminated before the population would ever settle down and knuckle under to Empire rule.
Despite her grim situation, Halina is determined not to simply disappear from sight and memory, give it all up, and just try to eke out a quiet life of survival. To whoever would listen to her, she continued to preach resistance and vowed never to give up the dream of independence once more.
How exactly she was going to accomplish all this, she had no real idea. For now she would just attempt to keep alive one day at a time. Her family tradition expected nothing less, she was a Szeptycki.
